I'm a storyteller, designer, and developer based in Iowa, United States, with a studio arts degree from Iowa State University. I design for just about anyone that needs it. I've recently spent time honing my graphic design skills, while also developing indie games and projects, and taking client commissions upon request.
My professional work includes projects for Gamepond (BloodxThirsty), PirateSoftware, (Spellbound) and Feline Fowl (Worker's Comp)
I wear many hats in the design space, because I think having multiple creative outlets and tools at your disposal allows for creative "breathing room" so to speak.

DESIGNER
& STORYTELLER
Benjamin is a professionally trained designer with a passion for heartfelt, immersive storytelling. He's released two indie game projects, including the top 10 contender in the 2024 Pirate Software Game Jam, 'Blood x Thirsty' followed by 'Spellbound' the following year. Both of these projects dealt with immersive worlds of their own. While his indie games highlight his technical and artistic skill, his storytelling takes on a different form elsewhere. Under the alias 'Builderman,' he's crafted a body of narrative content on YouTube, a creative alter ego he treats almost like a secret identity.
Ben leads and coordinates with teams of any size, helping solo clients with a design they want brought to life, or swapping ideas with other creatives to get truly powerful results. Ben's skills rest heavily in digital illustration, graphic design, and video editing, but he is always looking to strengthen new mediums to become a more well rounded designer.
Ben designs with intention, making sure that all of his designs serve a purpose, while also providing an immersive visual storytelling experience. Ben primarily designs in Procreate, Aseprite, Photoshop, and AfterEffects, constantly learning new techniques and pushing himself to create more. Ultimately, Ben plans to take this ongoing experience to work for a AAA game studio or work on feature-length films, never forgetting to tell fun, immersive stories along the way.

Benjamin is a passionate designer with a broad range of technical capabilities. Through the formatting of the studio arts major at Iowa State, Ben learned a wide variety of studio mediums, such as photography, life drawing, printmaking, metalsmithing, and carpentry, just to name a few. Ben appreciates the foundation of these disciplines, but it was clear that digital media was his main focus when he took on a semester long independent study internship, 'Bug Knight,' which would focus heavily on 3D modeling and animation.
Beyond Ben's more traditional experience, he has taken a keen interest in the development of small indie videogames, even releasing some small projects of his own in the past few years. Ben claims that there is a passion in the indie game dev community that has limitless possibilities, and any creative should have a chance to experience that kind of passion firsthand.
At the end of the day, Benjamin wants to tell interesting stories through his work, and he believes that creativity should always be shared, fun, and human.
