CRUNCH TIME
About a year after my first game jam submission 'BloodxThirsty,'
I decided to reach out and join a team for yet another Pirate Software Game Jam. I found a team who was in need of an artist.
I entered this project pretty late in the jam's total runtime, about a week after the jam started. (It runs for 2 weeks ) When I joined, my team hadn't picked an idea or theme yet. This was intimidating, but it also gave me a great challenge. Cutting the allotted time in half really tested how fast we were able to work.
This project is thanks to Peyoway who was our lead programmer, FreyaByForce, who composed an amazing soundtrack, junkmail7, and d.buggy who helped with additional coding, and most of my work involved character design and sprite animations.
Given my contributions span about a week's worth of time, there isn't a huge body of work here, but it was fun to make.

SPRITE ANIMATIONS
The biggest takeaway and goal for me during this project was to aim for more energetic sprite animations, and I learned the hard way how tedious that process really is.
I very casually agreed to make a fully animated main character, complete with idle, attack, walk, roll, and damage animations, not to mention that Peyoway wanted the character to move omni-directionally.
This meant that I had to make a new drawing for any possible direction the character could move, (*see right ) and this ALONE took three or four days out of my roughly seven. Needless to say, there is a noticeable improvement in animation detail from my first Pirate Software jam, and that is a win.
